The most common type of pedals are resistance based devices. These use a resistance core often made of Bakelite, levers, and electrical contacts. Problems with resistance devices include general wear; cracks in the resistance core; broken springs, levers, or other mechanical parts; and bad electrical connections.

An electronic foot control uses a circuit board with resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits to control the flow of electricity to the sewing machine. Failures of these pedals result from electrical surges, shorts, and general degradation of the electrical components. Problems with connective cords can also be problems.

An air pressure foot control is basically a ballast that pumps air to an air sensitive switch inside the sewing machine. If the ballast springs a leak, the pedal will fail to perform properly. Leaks in the connective line can also make the foot pedal useless.

When the sewing machine does not start when you press the pedal check out some of the obvious problem sources first. Is electricity flowing to the sewing machine? Is the electric plug plugged into the house plug? Is the power cord and my sewing machine foot pedal cord plugged firmly into my sewing machine? Is my sewing machine power switch turned on? Is my sewing machine light on? When I press down on my sewing machine pedal, what happens?

How do you fix The Sewing Machine foot pedal?

Begin by identifying the source of the problem. Check out the pedal to determine its type and inspect it for the most obvious signs of fault.

Is there any sound at all from my foot control or from my sewing machine? If there is no sound, that is good. If I hear a popping or crackling sound, unplug it immediately. If we shake my sewing machine pedal, do you hear anything rattling inside?

If you hear a hum, then the problem is probably not in my sewing machine pedal. If there is no movement and no sound from the sewing machine, my sewing machine foot pedal is suspect. Try pressing it down and letting up several times. Hold it down for a few seconds. If you still hear nothing and the sewing machine is motionless, it is either the cord or my sewing machine foot pedal.

Unplug the foot control from the sewing machine. Next open the sewing machine pedal. It has screws on the bottom that I remove. Some have finger catchers on the sides. So I release the catch, and the sewing machine opens.

With the pedal open, check for electrical connections and test for continuity with a TVOM or other meter.

If you have a resistance based foot pedal, use a TVOM or other tester to check resistance. Check for solid electrical connections.

Double check the power cord and cord leading to the pedal. Any cracks or faulty contacts can make the foot control fail. The electrical contacts inside the foot control are also critical.

Inspect the foot control for any broken pieces. Look for loose wires. Look for burn spots. If you see loose wires, reconnect the wires properly. Retest the foot control by connecting the probes of the meter to the two terminals inside. If there is still no needle action, the sewing machine pedal is no good. In rare instances, you can see where a wire has been broken off or some minor problem exists. But in most cases, to Fix the Sewing Machine pedal , you need to replace it.

I remember the first time a customer brought me a serger to repair. I was lost. Everything I had learned about standard sewing machines was lost because sergers are different. Over the years, however, I have worked on hundreds and generally find them as easy to service as regular sewing machines.

Have you ever wondered what people think about something? I do? When it comes to sergers I decided to find out. I set out on a mission to ask complete strangers what a serger was. The responses I got were amazing.

This is what I learned. Ordinary people believe a serger is some kind of electrical fuse, a new kind of lamp, a team logo, a new video game, or some kind of fruit. I guess not everybody sews, but I was stunned.

So, precisely what is a serger?

Unlike the regular home sewing machine, the serger is a particular type of machine that sews a hem, overcasts the edge of the fabric, and trims the fabric all at one time. Almost any sewing project can be accelerated by use of a serger whether the application is for utility (hidden away) or decorative to accent the project.

In 1881, the Merrow Sewing Machine Company pioneered a distinctive kind of sewing machine that achieved an overlocking stitch known as the Merrow stitch. This invention enabled factories to speed production and produce better goods by seaming, overcastting, and trimming all at the same time.

It is remarkable how words evolve over time. The Merrow became the overlock and is most commonly referred to today as the serger. The terms overedging, overcastting, overlocking, and serging are often used (interchangeably|synonomously|the same.

Sergers were the domain of industry and factories until 1964, when the Baby Lock brand of home sergers launched. Several professionals at Juki had envisioned a scaled down version of the heavy industrial serger, but the Juki company was not interested. So the professionals formed their own new company and launched Baby Lock home sergers.

Unlike the regular sewing machine that uses needle and hook assemblies to create interlocking stitches, the serger uses devices called loopers. A lower looper and an upper looper assist interact with the needle to create the overcastting stitches. Instead of using a shuttle or bobbin, the serger uses multiple cones of thread guided through tension assemblies to the loopers and needle. Sergers also use special needle plates with stitch fingers or horizontal needle fingers to help form the stitches.

While the home serger is based on the heavy industrial sergers of the past, they are far more user friendly and offer a wider range of stitch options. Industrial sergers typically only sew a single overcastting stitch at between 5,000 and 9,500 stitches per minute. Home sergers may produce a handful of stitch variations up to 80 some different stitches. Home sergers are far easier to thread, adjust, and use than the industrial sergers. Home sergers operate between 1,500 stitches and 3,000 stitches per minute which is roughly twice the speed of a standard home sewing machine.

The serger may use two, three, four, five, six, seven, or eight different threads in various combinations to produce an amazing array of different utility and decorative overcastting stitches. Baby Lock a serger capable of producing up to 86 different serging stitches.

Avid sewers and quilters consider the serger to be a vital part of every sewing room. Virtually any sewing project can be completed in half the sewing time by using a serger. The serger makes the project faster, better, and more professional looking.

However, doll collecting can be expensive specifically when it’s American Girl doll collecting. On the good side, the dolls you may possibly own can become investments. Most especially if they were released long long time ago.

But if you wish not to spend much, you can try looking at eBay and Amazon. In these places you can find retired or used dolls and discounted dolls that are in good quality. Clothes, accessories, books, furnitures and other great stuff for dolls are also available in these places. However, you must be careful and wise in checking of the quality of the dolls and the stuff for them to be sure you’re getting best value for your money.

Every seasoned raider knows Naxxramas, old and new. If you were not pre-BC then let me explain the history of Naxxramas. It was a raid located in the Eastern Plaguelands. Just like Dalaran, It has been moved to Northrend. Now the instance is floating above eastern Dragonblight and is now a 10 or 25 man raid. In pre-BC this raid was a whopping 40 man. Difficult to say the least to control 40 people in one raid.

Even though the numbers may have been reduced the challenge is still there. After you venture through your Heroics to get gear, Naxx will be the next step into your raiding world, like BC’s Karazhan. The following Naxxramas guide will help ease the pain of making it through this raid. Let alone save some money on repair cost ^.^.

Starting things off with the prerequisites of making a group in Naxx. Naxx, unlike Karazhan, will not fly with very few healers. I recommend 3 decent healers join you in these encounters. Reason being this raid is more complex then Karazhan, takes more time, and things will “pop up” and you need those quick heals. Next is a usual 2 tanks leaving the rest of the spots for dps. My personal key to a happy group is diversity. There are two reasons why: 1. Its better to mix and match abilities then have some repeat and there are “wasted” spots. 2. No fussing over the lewt. Simple as that.

The only notes that are different for the 25 man raids is that you have 25 people instead of 10. Most bosses will have adds with them and you will notice a significant amount of heath boost which is quite obvious. Other then that mastering the 10 man will ensure you and your group will strategically be ready for 25 mans.

For healers your requirements vary with how many healers you have, but I would suggest around 1200 spellpower and 250mp5 (3 healers). To be safe 1700 would be a better bet. Getting through some of these fights means you have to heal you butt off. Even in one encounter the raid is split in half! Making sure that you get good healers is your number one priority when doing Naxx.

As for tanks 20k unbuffed HP, 20K armor, defense 540 (crit immunity), and around 40-45% avoidance. Some of the encounters in Naxx hit with quite a punch. Not to mention a little spider named Maexxna =). Tanks will be your second priority when picking your group.

Finishing with dps classes, melee 9% hit, puts out 1.5K, caster 17% hit, puts out 1.5K. Once again to be safe I recommend having the dps be 2K+. Dps are the least important in raids for one reason, all they determine is how fast the boss goes down. Unless your trying to beat an enrage timer dps could take their jolly time.
