Tap water versus bottled water
Bottled water has become more popular in most Western countries in the past thirty years. Many people are turning away from tap water due to its possible health risks and commonly bad taste. Tap water is treated with chemicals to kill bacteria in it. These chemicals, including chlorine and fluoride, can be toxic to people and leave the water with a bad taste. In contrast, bottled water is pure, fresh water with no additives. It is usually filtered at least once at a bottled water factory ensuring that no chemicals are in the water. Bottled water can be bought individually or used in a water cooler to provide a nearly unlimited supply of fresh clean water.
